Let My People Go! A Spiritual Journey Along the Underground Railroad

Join the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh in its first performance in Pittsburgh's historic Hill District! Audiences are invited to celebrate Black History Month with this powerful performance of African American spirituals. Leading the audience along the Underground Railroad through storytelling, actors will illuminate the secret codes used by those who traversed the Railroad and explain the importance of the era's songs. The Junior Mendelssohn Choir will open the show with works by contemporary African American composers and will join the adult choir for the finale. Run time is 80 minutes. Tickets go on sale September 1.
