History Performed

Everybody is part of history, and also carries selected aspects of it with them that they feel are important to share. Tonight, The Glitterbox Theater is hosting its first History Performed show. Performers will each get five to 15 minutes to tell the audience true stories — about events, biographies, romances and whatever else they consider significant. Tonight, some of the material covered will include: radical puppetry; a survey of American 20th- and 21st-century queer femininity; the Mayan ball game, pok-ta-pok; a retrospect of musician Glen Danzig; and a look at the Benandanti, an Italian witch cult. It has all the educational value that history offers combined with the entertainment of musings on quirky topics.-LO
