Re: “Until there’s realistic campaign-finance reform, potentially great candidates don’t stand a chance

The lietanant goverrnors office is a waste of taxpayer money and should be done away with, but since were stuck with it, I think its worth discussing a few things.

The article fails to mention that Ms. Berringer actually had the largest amount of family support in both terms of dollar amount as well as percentage to total raised, other than Nina Ahmad who wrote a check for $500,000 to herself. That would have been a great point to add to the article if the author had done some research.

I also wonder why the author didnt ask her why she didnt run for a local office or state rep that would establish a base rather than going statewide in her first ever campaign. Im not sure why the author thinks Ms Berringer is more qualified than a county commissioner of one of the largest counties in the state.

Re: “U.S. Senate candidates talk fracking in Pennsylvania

Yes Katie, you were such a good friend to the environment when you fast tracked approval for a dirty coal plant just in the nick of time before more stringent EPA guidelines would have made it illegal.

Why would Katie have done such a thing knowing this plant would spew mercury and other poisons into the air? Oh that's right, the owner was a huge campaign supporter for Rendell and McGinty who gave McGinty well over $100,000 to her campaign.

To make matters worse, Katie used that money to repay loans she made to her own campaign, so that money literally went straight into her pocket.

The hypocrisy and duplicity of McGinty should appall any Democrat.

Re: “Was speaker at McGinty event a campaign staffer?

Sorry Katie, Senator Toomey isn't attacking the single mother, he is attacking you and for good reason.

This is yet another case of questionable ethics by Katie McGinty... fast tracking approval for a dirty coal plant for a Rendell supporter... awarding contracts to a firm employing her husband... I could go on...

Absolutely pathetic that she has to astroturf stories like this to seem more connected. I guess that's what happens when you take seven figure payments from coal and gas companies and live in a million dollar home.
