I think it's important to correct this mischaracterization of my comments - I never stated that "alcohol issues are a matter of perception." Alcohol issues in the South Side are a real and serious problem that needs to be addressed. In particular, patrons who come to the South Side need to take more responsbility for their actions. This will require increased enforcement of the laws currently in place. However, I stand by comments that the South Side has an image problem. The solution will only occur through a collaborative effort involving residents and business owners working together.
