Local artists from the Society of Sculptors demonstrate various sculptural techniques at the third annual FireTree Sculpture Festival. This free family-friendly event offers many hands-on activities for all ages. Demonstrations include welding, hot metal pour, mold making, clay modeling, precious
metal clay, stone carving, glass, wood sculpting, cold metal forging, and blacksmithing. The day features entertainment by local musicians, a sculpture exhibition, art raffle basket, craft beer from the Grist House, and food, culminating at nightfall with the spectacular FireTree Celebration, when the 22-foot-tall metal FireTree lights up with fire and fireworks, to the accompaniment of West African drummers.
