Equitable Casting: A Town Hall for Pittsburgh’s Theatre Community

What's at the root of the equity issues? What practical steps can the Pittsburgh theater community take to avoid whitewashing of productions? The Dramatists Guild in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Theatre Arts, Bricolage Production Company, GPAC, Indiana University of Pennsylvania Department of Theater and Dance, and established performers, writers, and directors will host a Town Hall to address these issues. Author’s rights, representation, racial justice in theatre, and the consequences of cultural appropriation will be covered in the discussion. A full list of panelists and the agenda can be accessed on the event page: http://www.pittsburghartscouncil.org/events-and-workshops-etc/gpacevents/event/475
