Eat Me: Seitan “cheesesteak”

Spak Brothers, 5107 Penn Ave., Garfield

A grungy, punk dive that’s constantly busy. The business is mostly takeout, but if you snag one of the bar seats, you can check out the wall art or people-watch on Penn Avenue.

What we ate:

Seitan “cheesesteak”

Hot take:

This sandwich fires every “guilty pleasure” circuit in your brain. The crunch of the hoagie roll paired with the salty seitan, caramelized onions and creamy mayo is an irresistible combination. Perfect for a late-night sandwich after a couple of beers or as a midday pick-me-up.
