Dr. Niq Johnson will present: “Race, Gender, and Pop Culture Feminism” Where: Mellon Board Room 9:30 AM coffee and networking 10:00 AM lecture With social media “influencers” and public intellectuals reshaping the terms of debate on Feminism’s most important themes, we must now address the conflict over who is being served by its popularization and to what ends. In this lecture, Dr. Johnson will explore common misconceptions of Intersectionality; White Feminism(TM) and the politics of erasure; and the queerantagonism and transphobia of “TERF” politics as they all collide in today’s top media moments.
