Assuming Oswald really was the lone-nut assassin (a huge assumption), one difference exists between him and the Confederates: ruling-class support. Oswald (allegedly) held Marxist beliefs; the states and the feds have never, ever supported Marxism or any other nonmainstream leftist political belief. However, our very mainstream rulers have never, ever had a problem with white supremacy or the exploitation of blacks. The Confederate statues embody the mindset held by Andrew Jackson, Richard Nixon, Donald Trump, and countless others who have run this country since its beginning.
The posted interview accurately presents what I said, except that under the "Some responses to the film" question, I actually said "You can't say that I have a chipper personality," though I probably meant "bubbly personality."
