Damaged Pies Day 

County Executive Onorato honors Steve Bodner

By proclamation of the county executive's office, Fri., Aug. 26, is officially Damaged Pies Day in Allegheny County. Here's an excerpt from the official decree:


WHEREAS, The Damaged Pies have been a successful Pittsburgh-based rock band for 25 years, and 

WHEREAS, The Damaged Pies are considered one of Rock and Roll's most durable and traveled acts, and 

WHEREAS, since its inception, the Damaged Pies have played and recorded at legendary venues including CBGB's in New York City, The Whisky-A-Go-Go in Los Angeles, Liverpool's Cavern, Sun Studio in Memphis, Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland; and

WHEREAS The Damaged Pies will be commemorating their 25th anniversary by staging a benefit performance at Club Café in Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood on August 26, 2011 …

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim August 26, 2011, "Damaged Pies Day" in Allegheny County.

FURTHERMORE, I do hereby congratulate The Damaged Pies on their 25 years in the music industry and wish the band continued success both in the Pittsburgh area and around the world.
