Curfew 

From down the block
she flashes past
on a battered bike
she has long outgrown.

Face intent,
she leans into the dusk,
streaks for home,
outraces dark.

On the cusp,
this woman-child

has caught the wind
in her tangled hair
and felt her body sing.
