[PUNK] + FRI., AUG. 18

Punk can mean different things to different people. For The Homeless Gospel Choir, it’s a world where everyone is accepted, no matter what. On the latest single, “Normal,” THGC contemplates trying to fit in with the status quo before a friend tells him “You’re never gonna be normal / Cuz you’re a punk.” His music is an uplifting reminder that it’s OK to feel like a weirdo because everyone else does too. Joining him tonight at Mr. Smalls is the lively blues-rock of Jack Swing and the mellow punk of Rue.

8 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale. $10. All ages. 412-821-4447 or
