Critics' Pick: Low Cut Connie at Club Cafe | Music | Pittsburgh | Pittsburgh City Paper

[ROCK ’N’ ROLL] + THU., OCT. 19

Some bands have a lead singer who simply stands at the front of the stage. Others, like Philadelphia’s Low Cut Connie, have a lead singer like Adam Weiner. Lively and charismatic, he leads the band from a piano, dancing on his piano bench and working the crowd like a birthday-party magician. The band’s sound is the fun kind of raucous rock that makes you wanna bring a six-pack to a house party and get into some shenanigans on a roof. Catch the Connies at Club Café along with the enjoyably messy blues-rock of Colorado’s The Yawpers.

8 p.m. 58 S. 12th St., South Side. $12. 21 and older. 412-431-4950 or
