The many sides of Frankie Rose

[POP] + MON., OCT. 9

After playing in several indie bands including Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls, Frankie Rose branched out on her own to make dreamy, melancholic, surfer-y pop. You can tell the album was made in her hometown of Los Angeles, from its laid-back beats to the music video for the track “Love in Rockets,” featuring vintage home videos of the singer’s family growing up in predominantly Latino East Los Angeles. She’ll play Club Café, joined by Philly pop group Suburban Living.

8 p.m. 58 S. 12th St., South Side. $10. 21 and older. 412-431-4950 or
