Critics' Pick: Evanescence at Heinz Hall

[GOTH THROWBACK] + MON., OCT. 30

The music videos you caught a glimpse of on MTV as a kid stick with you forever. When I think of Evanescence, I immediately picture singer Amy Lee desperately clinging to the side of a building in the goth-rock band’s iconic single “Bring Me to Life.” Though the song was released in 2003, it has since gained a life of its own, partly because it’s a good song, and partly because of the beautiful “Wake Me Up Inside (Can’t Wake Up)” meme. The band’s current tour, passing through Heinz Hall tonight, is joined by an orchestra to rework some of its hits. This is a perfect time to break out the black eyeliner and fingerless gloves.

8 p.m. 600 Penn Ave., Downtown. $48-397. All ages. 412-392-4900 or www.pittsburghsymphony.org
