Conversation with Xandria Phillips

Uploaded by Khalil Zeigler
In their debut poetry collection, HULL, award-winning writer and artist Xandria Phillips covers the effects of racism and colonialism on the Black queer body. A Conversation with Xandria Phillips will bring a discussion and Q&A with the writer as part of City of Asylum's Intimate Word Cellar series. "I didn't know how badly I needed these poems until they were unfurling in my hands, devastating and brilliant," New Yorker essayist Carmen Maria Machado wrote of Phillips' book.
