You don't know much about Alex do you? This devil horned "heel" has started an annual charity game in Moscow which raises great deals of money for victims of disasters and needy families. Here is an great article on his efforts to get more Russian athletes involved in philanthropy that I doubt you will read because you are more interested in the fact that Ovechkin pushed away a reporter for tabloid Life.ru who had snuck into the non-media zone at the Olympics (who had months earlier prematurely reported the death of Alex's grandfather.)- http://thehockeywriters.com/ovechkin-kovalchuk-malkin-headline-charity-game-in-moscow/

Or how about the interview where Ovechkin expresses his concern over the plight of team janitors and drivers- http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Ovechkin-takes-on-his-critics-fights-system-in-?urn=nhl-264146

Of course it was conducted in his native language so he could actually fully express himself. Instead of English interviews which apparently make him look "evil" because he has a Russian accent.

I won't speak for all Caps fans, but I certainly won't argue that Ovechkin has been as good as Crosby for a while. In fact, Stamkos is probably better too, and I wouldn't be surprised if Alex isn't considered one of the two best players in the game in a couple years.

But this "good" vs. "evil" thing is absurd. Do some research on a guy who while probably not the best player in the world is a kind, passionate young man who goes above and beyond to make the world a better place.
