Aladdin’s Eatery, 4885 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA, 15237, 412-369-9600. Overall: Excellent. Very good service and presentation. Delicious, fresh, authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Nicely decorated and clean. Generous portions. Excellent value for money. My daughter and I dined at Aladdin’s on Friday, March 9, 2007 at about 6:45 P.M. After a friendly greeting and prompt seating, our attentive waiter took our order promptly, I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc, a combination chicken chili & lentil soup and a side salad. Claire ordered hummus as a starter for us to share, and a tuna salad. The place was fairly busy and got busier. The wine was served in a unique v-shaped tumbler and probably measured six or more ounces—a very generous serving. The hummus came with a large basket full of wonderful flat bread. It was fresh and delicious and plenty for us both. A little citrus flavor peeked through, leaving a wonderful aftertaste. Our meals came right after. A large flat bowl with two nicely grilled pieces of tuna over mixed greens was actually a little too much for my 17-year old athlete with a good appetite—she left behind a few bites. I love a variety of soups and my dish satisfied to the last spoonful. After seeing the size of my bowl, I decided to leave my salad for later and took it home in a to-go container. We spent $31 and change including a $5 tip and I feel we got more than our money’s worth. I’m planning to go back.
