Would the Blocks *really* have deep-sixed the re-hiring of Jimmy Leyland, over cigarettes? I find that hard to believe...tho' speaking as one who could stand to see a few million smokers shamed out of their habits, I will still admit that *would* have been one of the dumber things ever (assuming this was not just 'creative license' on your part, sir...).
At any rate: as one who read him back in the day, I thought it was nice of CP to give its readers a chance to catch a glimpse of how Sir Cope made his pin money before he got famous on Stillers' radio.
