Obviously the "critic" missed the point in Valkyrie. I saw this movie earlier today, with a good friend. We were both very much surprised as to the number of older movie viewers who "packed" the theatre. In reality this movie was excellent in my opinion. Tom Cruise was very good as Oberst
Klaus Von Stauffenberg, Terence Stamp as General-Oberst Beck was also very good, and Tom Wilkerson as Field Marshal Fromm was perfect for this part. What Mr. Hoff missed was the oath that ALL German Soldiers (EM and Officers alike) was the LOYALITY OATH to Der Furhrer Adolph Hitler. Cruise brought the concept of that oath out at the very beginning of the movie. The men behind this plot were Germans first and forever. Not the Brown Shirted Nazi's. The German Officer Corps were loyal only to Germany and not the madman
who destroyed Deutchland.
Excellent Movie.
