Another way to look at this sad situation is from my point of view, stun guns are made available to anyone at weapon stores, so they need an id to be purchased, no criminal is going to care about that. I was attacked by my son's father in December of '05 with one so that he could then proceed to take money from me to support his drug habit. Why should weapons like these be made available to people like this? Had the store done an actual background check of any kind I guarantee the purchase would not have been made. When I found out where he had purchased this I went directly to the store and questioned there policies and in short, there wasn't one.
