Re: “Adam Crowley: There is no saving baseball

So your whole life involves nothing that is slow-paced? You don't enjoy nature, experience the process of creating something from scratch, read a book, or go to an art museum.

Your soul is so empty that you can't enter into a slower way of experiencing the world, feeling the tension build up, the anticipation, the joy of fruition?

Indeed, I hope you don't speak for your generation.

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: Pittsburgh Pirates' Jung Ho Kang should sit during sexual-assault investigation

I appreciate your desire to err on the side of a group of victims who has been historically wronged and shamed. However, suppose Kang is innocent. If that is true, then he is the one being victimized here. To be wrongly accused of sexual assault is a severe wound, and a pall is cast over someone that will never be removed, even if he is exonerated in the eyes of the law. Suspicion will follow him forever. It will effect all of his relationships. If he is innocent, you are asking him to pay for past wrongs that he had nothing to do with, and that is unfair.

This is part of the horror of sexual assault cases. We do not know for sure who is the victim. Either way the public and employers handle cases like Kangs, someone is going to be hurt. I believe in taking allegations seriously and suspending judgements until good evidence resolves the case in the justice system. Sometimes athletes and other celebrities get away with crimes or get special treatment. Sometimes they are wrongly targeted with false accusations because of their resources. Fairness dictates that we suspend judgements while we wait for resolution.
