A Great Night for Fingerstyle Guitar

2014 International Fingerstyle Champion Helen Avakian joins Pittsburgh guitarist Daryl Shawn at Bierport's intimate tap room for a free performance. Helen Avakian is an award winning singer/songwriter/guitarist based in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to her 2014 International Fingerstyle Guitar Champion title, she was voted number one Favorite Acoustic Act four times by Rhythm & News magazine. Daryl Shawn combines his taste for unusual chords with the guitar-thumping techniques of flamenco and rhythms culled from African music to create an eclectic, energetic mix. Songlines Magazine calls him "the man who can make his guitar sound like anything".
