A Doll’s House, Part 2

Henrik Ibsen’s 1879 play A Doll’s House critiques traditional gender roles in a marriage. The wife feels trapped by obligation and leaves her husband and family at the end of the play. A Doll’s House, Part 2, at Pittsburgh Public Theater, was written by Lucas Hnath in 2017 and begins with the wife, now a famous novelist, returning to her family 15 years after her departure. PPT describes the show as “a must-see for theater-lovers and anyone who’s ever tried to be married.”
