I could spend time correcting Rob Conroy's gross errors, such as stating that flash suppressors are hard to get, when in fact they are completely legal, but I won't. It merely shows his incompetence to engage in any meaningful discussion on public policy issues related to gun rights.
What I want to discuss, instead, is the racist agenda that Conroy and CeaseFirePA are promoting. What? Racist? Yep, that's what I said. And it's true.
Gun control, historically, has its roots in controlling people who are different. They are a holdover from the Jim Crow laws of the South and at other times when African-American people were disarmed because they simply "could not be trusted" to own firearms. Any time gun control comes up in public discourse, our elected officials and courts should consider it a "suspect idea" due to its evil and tainted history.
The irony is that CeaseFirePA is promoting a political agenda that would leave people in high crime areas defenseless in the face of crime and social unrest; two scenarios all too common today.
Gun restrictions are a luxury for those who live in gated communities with private security and alarm systems, but it is a death sentence for those who live in the inner-city. We have to question the motivation behind Conroy's gun control agenda in light of the undeniable racist roots of gun control.
