I'm a descendant of the Cumming family.....3 generations of which had owned and lived on the Brunot Island prior to it being sold....the land was farmed and the produce taken to market in Manchester and Allegheny City. I grew up listening to stories about life on the island...the family is no relation to Fortescue Cuming to my knowledge.
