    Re: “Vicious Cycle
I thought I would even the "post" playing field, and agree that most bikers I have observed do not follow the rules of the road. This does not necessarily mean that they deserve to suffer any consequence, but this article paints a very one-sided story. We should all realize and accept that the United States is a place which has been designed to accomodate automobiles. This is not Europe or Asia where cyclists are commonplace and outnumber autos. Cars run the road, and cyclists follow their own rules - sometimes with grim consequence. I can honestly say that I have never, NEVER, seen a cyclist respect a stop sign unless it was unsafe to proceed. I have also never seen a cyclist issued a citation. Moving on to the random acts of violence issue - that is just a case of vulerability and it is unfortunate. Those who would assault a person who's appendages are occupied with a task are cowards and deserve retribution. It is equivilent to a sucker punch.
