Named for a genus of buttercup flowers, the easy beauty of Hepatica’s name is second only to the stunning floral arrangements it churns out.

In 2016, during one particularly long, hard week of floral design at Hepatica, the women responsible for its bouquets, corsages, and centerpieces learned that their work had led City Paper readers to select it as Best Florist that year. Hepatica’s manager-owner, Dana Pruszynski, says “[being selected] caused buzz and excitement throughout the shop for the next several days.”

Since that selection, Hepatica has continued to strive to be the best. Though it missed out on last year’s top three, it’s back this year, finishing third. First is the place Hepatica wants to earn, though: “The win helps to serve as motivation for our design work and customer service,” Pruszynski says. “We strive to be deserving of the title every day.”
