On Earth I Am Like Elvis

On a
first date
Elvis
showed Ann-Margaret
a solid gold
bathtub and shower
angels appeared
and music
and he said to her
in words
all this could be yours
but alas
she picked Roger Smith
and
according to the National Enquirer
for the rest of her life
every time she took a shower
she saw the King
going over her
top to bottom
with those eyes
his hands adjusting the shower handles
turning them this way and that
like a plumber
or
a Vegas bellhop
