Critics' Pick: Donora at Spirit

[INDIE POP] + FRI., DEC. 1

It’s been three years since we last heard from Donora, and the band’s return couldn’t have come at a better time. Bright but not overproduced, upbeat but not lacking for edge, Donora’s music has an unmatched ability to bring gloomy folks out of their funks — and there’s no shortage of folks in funks these days. Tonight at Spirit, celebrate the release of the new album Sun to Me, alongside the pristine soul/funk of The Buckle Downs and Glo Phase’s crisp moody chillwave, plus the surreal artwork of Aimee Manion.
