Your Pittsburgh cat needs a Pittsburgh toy, like a felt pierogie

City Paper shows you how easy a pierogie cat toy is to make

Why shouldn’t your Pittsburgh cat have a regionally appropriate toy? Here’s how you can make a catnip-filled pierogie. It’s a simple bit of sewing, and remember: Handmade food-filled pierogies are misshapen, so don’t sweat perfection. Likewise, your cat “sees” only CATNIP.

You’ll need to buy only three inexpensive items: craft felt (sold in 9-by-12-inch sheets at craft stores such as Michaels, Pat Catan’s and Jo-Ann); embroidery floss (also at craft stores); and dried catnip (at any pet store). We chose pierogie-colored felt, but you can use any color.
