Being Cured

If you want to preserve a piece of meat, you cure it.
You pack it in salt to draw all the moisture out,
or leave it to dry in the wind or bathe it in smoke 
until it takes on a different quality: 
tougher, preserved, full of flavor
and a wicked sense of humor.

If you want to cure a person of cancer, 
you do the same thing.
