Yesterday Chalk Dinosaur celebrated the seven-year anniversary of its album, Follow Me. Since that day in 2011, artist and producer John O'Hallaron has released over ten albums. On this day in 2011 I released an ep called Follow Me. It was a creative and technical breakthrough in terms of my writing and recording, and I’ll always have a soft spot for it! I always take this opportunity to share it... https://t.co/KEAhA17Y3Z
And on Thursday performed a live DJ set at Ascend on the South Side.
Let's take a break from #rockbot to enjoy a live DJ set from local musician @Chalkdinosaur - this Thursday 11/8 from 6p-9p. All we ask is that you keep climbing and working out, but with slightly more style and groove! Note: this is not a concert, just some dope music to enjoy. pic.twitter.com/AABWMwsshG

Speaking of mid-2000s’ singers, Regina Spektor, added a new track to the music world this weekend with, "Birdsong."
Here is a new little “Birdsong” for you-written for Panorama, the 6th episode of a wonderful new show by Matthew Weiner called @TheRomanoffs. This episode felt like a love letter to the deep rich culture of Mexico & to people just trying to find and accept themselves as they are. pic.twitter.com/KHr54TIR7l

Since I haven't heard anything else this week besides, "Thank u, next," it only makes sense that the song became Ariana Grande’s first number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
.@ArianaGrande comments on "thank u, next" becoming her first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100: "for once, i don't really have words."https://t.co/wT0WX8PoiZ
— Headline Planet (@headlineplanet) November 12, 2018
The song, along with three others, made Billboard history.
For the first time this century, four songs have debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in a single calendar year: ‘God’s Plan’ by Drake, ‘Nice For What’ by Drake, ‘This Is America’ by Childish Gambino, and ‘thank u, next’ by Ariana Grande. pic.twitter.com/P7LPpZ2lDO

Ariana Grande (‘thank u, next’) joins Beyoncé (‘Perfect Duet’ w/ Ed Sheeran), Camila Cabello (‘Havana’ ft. Young Thug), and Cardi B (‘I Like It’ w/ Bad Bunny & J Balvin) as the only songs by a female as the lead artist to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year. #thankunext pic.twitter.com/OhjAOmLf4q

And they didn't just stick to Kids See Ghosts songs.

we're really only a couple hours away from a Kids See Ghosts concert. Even just as a livestream, this is a show I've always dreamed of. I really hope we get a festival tour this summer.
