Re: “Lessons learned from a 12-year-old drag queen

I know this family and this kid, and they are truly an inspiration. In my 33 years gender has always been something I've struggled to grasp. Ignorance and intolerance pushed me almost over the edge and I cannot thank the universe enough for lighting my path to the drag scene where I've been able to build a career, express myself and help my community. Great kid, great family, great story!

Re: “Lessons learned from a 12-year-old drag queen

Thank you. Thank you so much for featuring my beautiful child in this story. And thank you for trying to help people understand. We do live in a wonderous time of growth, acceptance, and love... whether people open their eyes to it or not. I can't protect my child every moment. So I pray that we're creating a world where all children (of all ages young and adult) like E! feel loved and accepted and safe. Bless you and City Paper

Re: “Lynn Cullen Live - 10/31/17

Lynn Cullen's Mt. Lebanon bashing this morning over a Trick or Treat policy that does not exist was a good example of so-called professional journalists who repeat information without checking the source. Mt. Lebanon's Trick or Treat is from 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. There are no official bags. Maybe next time, do a little homework before positioning any community as an elitist place that does not want to share candy with people who come from beyond their borders.

Re: “At the top of the Carson Towers on East Carson Street, there is an old inlaid sign that says "Saint Joseph's Hospital." I've never heard of St. Joseph's. When did it operate?

I was born in St. Joseph's in 1959. Oddly, 1977, the year it closed was the year I graduated from highschool.
I'm always strangely proud of having been born there, across the river from the Jones and Laughlin steel mill.
