Re: “Lynn Cullen Live - 5/14/19

Hi Lynn. Hope you had a nice vacation. Speaking of Jimmy Carter, my Dad told me this story back when Carter was President. My Dad is into fly fishing, and back then he took a fly fishing lesson from a professional. That professional told him the story of when he took President Carter on a fishing trip. President Carter ended up getting a hook stuck in his hand. The Secret Service and the Doctor that is always on hand couldn't get the hook out. Well, the professional fly fisherman knew the proper way to remove a hook from a persons flesh. The Presidential Doctor and Secret Service were very reluctant to let him remove the hook, but Carter insisted, and the pro showed them all how to remove a hook, live on the President!

Re: “Thanks to my therapist I can now add abandonment issues to my psychiatric cornucopia

I don't really understand what you wanted her to do. Copays are set by insurance companies and so her accepting a lower copay constitutes fraud. Also her not filling your slot would have meant she would have been at work for an hour unpaid until you made the decision to come back. It's not like she said "I'll never see you again." She said "I can't keep your standing appointment open." Therapists are people who have to eat just like everyone else. I think that's really easy to lose sight of.

Re: “Thanks to my therapist I can now add abandonment issues to my psychiatric cornucopia

omg HA THANK YOU I have almost exactly the same list of dx AND recently was transitioned from two therapists in the span of 8 months and it was exactly as awkward as this. I am indebted to your humor for connecting your story with my story in this truthful way.

Re: “At the top of the Carson Towers on East Carson Street, there is an old inlaid sign that says "Saint Joseph's Hospital." I've never heard of St. Joseph's. When did it operate?

i had 2 hospitalizations in St Josephs -1 for a week in November 1961 when I was 7 years old and a longer time in January 1962. Childrens hospital wouldn't take be because we had no insurance. I got great care there- i decided then to be a nurse and in 1976 i graduated from nursing school. I have worked FT as an RN since then and will retire in December

Re: “My understanding is that Philadelphia is the only first-class city in the state, and Pittsburgh is the only second-class city. What would we have to do to become a third-class city?

Philadelphia might be a first class city because of it's population but it's a 3rd world country because of it's liberal policies...

Re: “My birth certificate says I was born at the Roselia Hospital, but I can't find where it was. Can you tell me more about it?

my mother was born in Roselia 6/28/33 under the name of baby girl cain and no father was listed. Her stepmom went and let her took the baby home at around 3 months old without adopting her. they changed her name on the birth certificate to Joan Cain but I don't know when. I don't have any info on whether she was officially adopted or if they just changed her name. I cannot locate any records on baby girl cain on that date in Pennsylvania. I am looking for any information on my grandfather's side of the family.

Re: “A new Kickstarter campaign has a terrible solution to your relationship problems

How about the fact that if one partner presses the button then they're going to know whether or not the other partner pressed it. One person might press the button every night and never get a match lol.
