Re: “Gab Around 'Tahn

Different strokes for different folks, but I love the Pittsburgher and Capicolla...Primantis to me is a Pittsburgh institution. I am a sangwich man anyhow, and yes I meant to spell it with a G...

Re: “Gab Around 'Tahn

100% agree about Primanti's. Not that good. But they could be.

Re: “Gab Bonesso learns the cost of a cookie

When I graduated from high school my estranged father took me out to dinner, told me how proud he was of me--after a lifetime of ignoring me on the good days, or beating and haranguing me on the more common bad days.

"I want to give you a hundred dollars," he said, "But I only have fifty now. I'll give you the rest on payday." He'd never given me a present in his life, and though I knew I'd never see that second $50, the idea of any gesture on his part filled me with an exultant cocktail of excitement and trepidation. I ate my meal with the cash on the table, right where I could see it, halfway between his steak and my lasagna. He encouraged me to have desert. He asked me about my future. About the cute "that tight little blonde" I'd been dating".

Then the waitress brought the check. He looked at it, nodded, picked up the $50 bill from the table and handed it back to her. When she returned with the change, he passed me the remaining $17.46, looking proud as hell. 34 years ago, and I still recall the exactly amount.

We got up and he led the way out, stiffing the waitress on the tip, as was his habit (nobody tipped him for doing his job!). I surreptitiously left the $7.46 on the table--he'd caught me leaving tips to cover him before, and nothing good ever came of it. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hurt, but I got $10 and a nice dinner.

The next day we received a letter in the mail from his lawyer, contending that since I graduated on June 6, and technically dad's child support payment of $100/mo expired at my graduation, that they would be pro-rating that month's payment and we should only expect $25. My mom sighed. "Typical," she said. I never did see that other $50

Re: “An amendment to Pittsburgh's panhandling ordinance should remind us how wrong it was in the first place

Never will I ever give to people who panhandle! You want something: work for it! That's how America is. How about you idiot liberals examine some of the *choices* those people made in their lives, and thus, here they are, begging for money. But when offered food, they refuse, saying they want cash. It is illegal to panhandle in PA but our PD fails to enforce it as they should be doing! Myself and other taxpaying Pittsburghers WHO WORK HARD, thank you very much, don't need to be bothered with scumbags who refuse to work and did nothing but throw their lives away. They have plenty of resources in this town to help them, yet they refuse. Hmmm. Odd. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!! And the ones on the southside that have dogs with them: the dogs should be taken away from them! You can't take care of yourself so you're going to take on a dog to exploit for $$ when the dog could be in a loving home. BS. TAKE THE DOGS AWAY FROM THEM!!!

Re: “Gabby Normal: Practice What You Preach

So grateful for all that you've shared Gabby. My heart feels a bit of it mending every time I hear someone understand the truth about addiction. Accepting the truth of it naturally comes with compassion. And the understanding, acceptance and compassion calm me down, because it makes the world a safer place. Thank you. Love you, Ruth

Re: “The Problem With “Diversity”

I always had a problem with the word "diversity" it was meant to mean people of color. at that time i was at a workplace where businesses received start up funding, so the word diversity was twisted to mean "white women", and every other ethnicity other than "African American / Black, etc." and when it came to hiring yes they used diverse in the same way, as long as they hired a white woman, Asian person, you get it the path. It didn't matter if they didn't hire an African American because being diverse you hired someone, you funded someone other than a white male. LOL don't use that word around me.

Re: “Gabby Normal: Walk on the wrong side

Walk tall! Sounds like the type of person who puts down others to make themselves feel better about their own issues.

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: Controversial Allegheny County Judge Lester Nauhaus is still serving on the bench; it’s time to change that

There is a process. This is why there are appeals to the Pennsylvania Superior, Commonwealth and Supreme Court. Obviously, he is a good judge as he takes the bench everyday. I find this reporting tasteless. People charged with a crime or summary offense are entitled to trials in our adversarial process. Additionally, they are entitled to constitutional rights. Meaning, the judge is free to make a decision letting a person off the hook if rights have been violated or there is no evidence to sustain a conviction. The Office of the District Attorney or police could have brought more serious charges if they thought it was that serious, right? Obviously it was not because greater charges would have been brought and a summary appeals judge would not have ruled on the issue. Just because someone goes to therapy, does not mean they actually need it or it is not part of some greater master manipulation.

Re: “Add Antwon Rose Jr. to list of black Americans fatally shot by police

There is no evidence that race had anything to do with it. Why jump there first? It really is not helping.

Re: “Add Antwon Rose Jr. to list of black Americans fatally shot by police

Don't forget to add little angel Antwon to the list of black men who are gangster thugs that go around shooting people in drive-bys.

Re: “Pennsylvania needs to let doctors decide what conditions can be best treated with medical marijuana

I was having joints pain in both hands inside and outside and muscle weakness due to multiple sclerosis (MS). I was falling a lot, I had headaches and lightheadedness. I couldnt keep myself balanced, and walk with a tremor like I cannot control my steps. The amantadine hydrochloride (Symmetrel) and modafinil (Provigil) did very little to help me. I still didn't feel any better, Since the original diagnosis, My stiffness has slowly increased. October 2017 my brother in-law told us about Natural Herbal Gardens where he ordered herbs that effectively treated his Parkinsons. We ordered their multiple sclerosis herbal treatment after reading alot of positive reviews, i am happy to report this multiple sclerosis herbal treatment reversed my (MS) condition. My quality of life has greatly improved and every one of my symptoms including muscle weakness and tremors are gone. Their official web official website is ww w. naturalherbalgardens. c om. I can now go about my daily activities, I will be 64 soon.

Re: “Dahntahn for you

So high end retailers Kaufmans and Saks are gone. There are Mexican, Thai, Indian, Greek, Turkish, Chinese and other restaurants and this article is complaining that downtown doesn't cater to the non-white, non-well off. This article is confused at best.

Re: “An amendment to Pittsburgh's panhandling ordinance should remind us how wrong it was in the first place

Just moved to an apartment in downtown Pittsburgh above Market Square last year and have already had two incidents at bus stops where people aggressively got in my face and asked for money and when I ignored them start to yet and act like they wanted to fight. In both cases I was just about to dial 911 when my bus came and I left the scene. People may be tempted to give these people money but you are just as likely to get sucker punched and have your wallet taken if you succumb to such tactics. If they want to make Pittsburgh safe and clean they need street cameras to catch the criminals in the act and to drive them away from the zones where people live and work. When I walk to work all I see and smell is cigarette butts!
