Re: “Lynn Cullen Live - 5/14/19

Hi Lynn. Hope you had a nice vacation. Speaking of Jimmy Carter, my Dad told me this story back when Carter was President. My Dad is into fly fishing, and back then he took a fly fishing lesson from a professional. That professional told him the story of when he took President Carter on a fishing trip. President Carter ended up getting a hook stuck in his hand. The Secret Service and the Doctor that is always on hand couldn't get the hook out. Well, the professional fly fisherman knew the proper way to remove a hook from a persons flesh. The Presidential Doctor and Secret Service were very reluctant to let him remove the hook, but Carter insisted, and the pro showed them all how to remove a hook, live on the President!

great, thought-provoking comments on Nancy Pelosi. The Republicans demonize her as she's so Effective. The Dems who want to replace her are doing the Republicans' work.

Sounds like Whitaker listens to a lot of Coast To Coast AM with George Norey? And that entertaining over night radio show is usually broadcast on the same radio stations as the right wing talk shows like Rush Limpballs etc.

Re: “Lynn Cullen Live - 1/22/18

Last year, there was a contraversy in Pittsburgh over intersectionality. I chose not to go because of it. The organizers ignored, and even suppressed input from African Americans. The "I don't know why they had it on Saturday instead of Sunday," is a blow in the face to many, many people. Pittsburgh has a long tradition of celebrating Martin Luther King on this weekend. The black vote changed the elections in the south, and I think you had better show the black vote more consideration if you want to win any election. I was glad to be there this year. I am also Green, and the Green party has a ticket in the primaries in Ohio. I became Green by asking for one. Democrats are selling out on the majority (Bernie Sanders), on DREAMERS and on African Americans. I know you can't research every podcast thoroughly, but blowing the reasoning off for the Pittsburgh Sister March being on Sunday for "some other event," was a big mistake.

Lynn Cullen's Mt. Lebanon bashing this morning over a Trick or Treat policy that does not exist was a good example of so-called professional journalists who repeat information without checking the source. Mt. Lebanon's Trick or Treat is from 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. There are no official bags. Maybe next time, do a little homework before positioning any community as an elitist place that does not want to share candy with people who come from beyond their borders.

The community of SC Florida had the best weatherman in Denis Philips of ABC 10 Action News. He had the best coverage and the most accurate down to earth analysis of the storm. He and his team did much better on the Weather Chanel! Our little community of Watersedge in New Port Richey rode out the storm hunkered down. Community members contributed with updates on our FB page from one end of the community to another and we are all safe with little damage. What a storm that was!

I am a huge fan of Lynn. I have listened since I moved to Pittsbugh 23 yrs ago to be a member of the PSO. I believe she is misinformed about this situation and our new management's tactics. Ticket sales and revenue is up...for starters. Many other orchestras in the US are doing well (i.e. Cleveland). I hope she would have some of our musicians on her show to explain the real story.

Again, in many states, disclosure of such information as Ms. Kaine disclosed, would have been LEGAL. She would have been doing her job in disclosing the email correspondence that occurred on our dime when the email contained bigoted joking, etc. and was email from a judge. Isn't that really why she's been sh**-canned? Come on. This was a good-ole-boy witch-hunt. Ms. Kaine got her law license revoked because of disclosure of stuff by a judge who should step down. Why isn't the judge whose emails were inappropriate, offensive, and obviously prejudiced, undergoing judicial review.

Re: “Lynn Cullen Live 08/16/16

The Repubiican Senator who was convicted of several felonies and sentenced to ten years in jail is already out of jail. Jane Orey. Why don't you know the names of these people?!? Don't you have Google? By the way, Senator Jane Orey's sister - a JUDGE - was also guilty of several felonies. I still really would like to know why the former Governor, who was also a State Attorney for many years, got away with sitting on his hands on the Sandusky matter. Why isn't there any outrage over THAT. Sandusky contributed to Tom Corbett's campaign, and for years sexually abused young boys who were poor. Why no pursuit of that matter. And yet you're saying "Shame on her" for a woman who disclosed information information that should have been open to the public in the first place. In other states, there are laws that prohibit concealment of such information. Why do you have a radio show when you are not intellectually curious about what's going on in your state? Why aren't you talking about Tom Corbett.

Re: “Lynn Cullen Live 08/16/16

And yet nothing was done about Tom Corbett's relationship with Sandusky. Care to explain that one?

Re: “Lynn Cullen Live 06/20/16

Your facts are wrong.
Oakmont had few trees until the late 1950's when 5,000 were planted. When the membership decided to return the course to its original character and design intention in the late 1990's (not 70s), the trees were carefully reduced and planted over to eliminate any run-off. Eventually approximately 12-15,000 (not 45,000) were removed including the trees needed to lengthen the course for competition standards.
The results are the return of a classic links course, less water consumed by the course, less chemicals required due to better air circulation and healthier turf, and better recycling of CO2 due to a more consistent coverage of vegetative population. In addition, less frequent cutting in the rough areas reduces equipment exhaust emissions as well.
I would suggest that Oakmont improved what it had at so many levels.
