Thank you, thank you, thank you! However this should read "when consumed properly".

The single most important truth (or anti-misunderstanding) about absinthe, in my opinion, is that it is a concentrated drink. It isn't, and never was, intended to be drunk undiluted. A proper glass of absinthe starts with just 1 ounce of the absinthe (the concentrate). As such, its bottled alcohol percentage is irrelevant. It's only bottled at the percentages that it is to preserve it until it is served.

Not only does a properly prepared glass of absinthe contain no more alcohol than an average glass of wine, it contains less alcohol than 12 ounces of most IPA beers (never mind 16 ounce pours!), and most standard and classic mixed drinks.

I commend you for staying away from the usual "high alcohol" hyperbole usually part of these kinds of articles. It's a dialogue I think it's high time we all moved away from.

No, after the second distillation, a second mix of herbs is soaked in the warm distillate to release chlorophyll (and add flavor).

There is only 1 real Fassionola syrup still made by the Jonathan English Company in San Diego, Ca. Three versions red, green and gold. Usually available only through Jonathan English distributors, which more or less keep it kinda secret, but there is an individual selling it on eBay. Seems the product has had a facelift in late 2017 and the updated labeled bottles are gradually making it out to various bars, restaurants and cocktail enthusiasts.

Having met Fred Rogers on several occasions, I think he would love the idea. The show was for children, but his legacy was for all of Pittsburgh. These people grew up watching him like all of us did. Fred had a sense of humor.

I would expect and hope the Fred Rogers company will sue them. All true pittsburghers should not patronize. Fred's legacy in Pittsburgh and to all children does not deserve the disgrace of a bar being named after him. What are these idiots thinking.

yeah... no. I'm irreverent as fuck, but it's gross to name a bar after a teetotaler. Why can't it just be The Neighborhood Bar? Gets the point across without being a dick about it. Everything else about it is fine.

Honestly, I hope the Fred Rogers Company sues to block the name.
