AS MUSIC FESTIVALS GO, the one that goes down every summer in Deutschtown has few rivals in our region. Heck, City Paper readers have selected it as “Best Music Festival” each of the past two years — and for obvious reasons.
A treat for all the senses (come for the sounds on Friday, come back for the food and activities on Saturday), Deutschtown Music Festival’s organizers pride themselves on having “something for everybody.” And with 300 bands, 26 indoor venues, seven outdoor stages, 20 food trucks, an artist’s market and a beer garden … well, what else could everybody want?
Pick up our print issue this week for a four-page guide to get you through the sixth annual Deutschtown Music Festival. (Also, be sure to look for our annual City Guide, which will come in handy for those making up bucket lists.) But before getting to any of that, take a look at our photo essay of Deutschtown as it is without a big music bash.
This special part of Pittsburgh has always marched to its own tune.
