Local students and community members gathered outside of Sixth Presbyterian Church in Squirrel Hill this evening to rally against gun violence in schools. Beth Foringer, Senior Coordinator with CeaseFirePA, expressed the importance of regulations on guns and supporting candidates who are willing to stand up against the gun industry. Foringer said, “lawmakers make it clear where they stand on gun violence prevention so elect the people who support common sense gun laws. Together we can end gun violence in our lifetime.” In the wake of the recent tragedy in Minnesota, local leaders and activists are eager to offer support to their community. The Black Political Empowerment Project, CeaseFirePA, Indivisible Pittsburgh and Moms Demand Action were present to spread awareness to their neighbors.
