Local sandwich fans will be in hoagie heaven when a new shop opens Downtown. On Thu., April 20, PrimoHoagies will hand free hoagies to the first 100 Rewards Program customers who visit the Philadelphia-based chain's new location on Penn Avenue. A release says the 1800-square-foot store will feature a dine-in area and outdoor seating, as well as takeout and delivery options. Those interested in some tasty deals can text “Primo” to (484) 270-4000 to join the PrimoHoagies Rewards Program.

Chantal's celebrates five years in operation with a big cheesy giveaway. From now through Thu., April 20, you can enter to win a large charcuterie plate filled with various cheeses, nuts, meats, and more. To enter, just follow Chantal's on Instagram, then like and tag the giveaway post. The more a user tags their friends in the post, the more chances they get to win. The winner must be in Pittsburgh and must be able to pick up the prize on Sat., April 22 between 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

A national chain will unveil a sweet new destination in Bethel Park when, on Fri., April 21, Crumbl Cookies opens its South Road shop. A release says that the grand opening week menu will feature six of Crumbl's over 275 weekly rotating flavors, including Milk Chocolate Chip.

A release calls it a "foodie experience" made to showcase "historically Black recipes" highlighted in plays by Pittsburgh's own August Wilson. The Center will, on Wed., April 26, expand on its permanent August Wilson: The Writer’s Landscape exhibition with A Taste of the American Century, a multicourse meal featuring foods mentioned in Wilson's American Century Cycle. The night includes a cooking demo by Chef Mike “BIG EZ” Barnes of Roux Orleans, and a catered dinner featuring food and dessert mentioned throughout the Cycle. Expect fried pork chops, gumbo, shrimp and grits, bread pudding, and more. Tickets cost $48 and are available to purchase at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust website.

A new restaurant promises to "bring the tastes of Peru" to Pittsburghers. El Pollon, a West Virginia-based company owned by Luis and Marisa Neira, opened its newest location in Carnegie. The concept serves "Peruvian charcoal rotisserie chicken," according to a release, as well as "hand-crafted Ceviche on the weekends and several authentic specialty dishes," including Lomo Saltado and Bistek a lo Pobre.
