Afroheat Anniversary at Spirit. 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m. 242 51st St., Lawrenceville. $8. spiritpgh.com - Afroheat celebrates five years with a night of deep, funky Afro-rhythms at Spirit. The event’s founders DJ Vex Brown and SMI will keep the party going all night long with a selection of Afrobeat, Afrohouse, Afro-Latin, Afrofuture, and Afro-Brazilian music. There will also be limited edition Afroheat t-shirts for sale.

Transmissions: New Wave, Post-Punk and Alternative Dance at Full Pint Wild Side Pub. 8-11 p.m. 5310 Butler St., Lawrenceville. Free. fullpintbrewing.com – Drink, dance, and be merry when DJ Poptone presents Transmissions, a vinyl-only night of alt favorites from the 1980s and beyond at Full Pint Wild Side Pub.
