Bombshell
Every Friday, Pittsburgh City Paper compiles a round-up of new releases and second-run films playing around the city. This only covers films that are new to theaters this week; check out what movies opened last week here.

Bombshell

Fox News says bad things all the time, but did you know that behind the scenes, the organization does bad things too? Bombshell is the story of the Fox anchors who exposed CEO/goblin Roger Ailes' history of sexual harassment. A perfect movie for the whole family! Now playing everywhere.

Cats
What could I say about Cats that hasn't already been said? Vulture described it as "with all affection, a monstrosity." Gizmodo wrote that viewers " will witness things no eyes should see and things nobody should be able to do, and you will be in awe." Several critics have described it as confusingly horny. Coincidentally, all of these things also describe the holiday season. Now playing everywhere.
Waves
In this Florida-set drama, a family coming apart at the seams struggles to hold itself together after wrestling star (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) gets sent to prison. His parents and sister are left to pick up the pieces. It's an ambitious, but not wholly successful melodrama. Read our full review here. Now playing at the Harris Theater, 809 Liberty Ave., Downtown. cinema.pfpca.org

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
You know the deal: light-sabers, spaceships, sky-fighting, tender robots, bounty hunting, one girl, alien creatures. This one is the final installment of the third (and supposedly last) trilogy of the Star Wars universe. Now playing everywhere.

Little Women
Written and directed by Greta Gerwig, this take on Louisa May Alcott's classic book is the latest in a long line of adaptations. It's a lively and warm film filled with all the struggles and joy of the March family, with an especially striking performance by Saoirse Ronan as Jo March. Look for our full review next week. Opens everywhere Wed., Dec. 25.
