Concert announcements:Grounders, Elle King, Julia Holter, more

Just a smattering of announcements today, check em aht!

On Dec. 28 at the Smiling Moose, Rage Against the Machine cover band RATM2, Through These Walls and Shad Ali play a benefit for American veteran volunteers in Iraq and Syria. Also coming to the Smiling Moose: rapper Whitney Peyton on Jan. 7 ($10-12, on sale now); Toronto rock band Grounders on Jan. 14 ($10, on sale now); Hail The SunMakari, Scene Stage The World, The Scarlet Son and False Accusations on Jan. 19 ($10-12, on sale now); and electro-metal outfit Exotype on Jan. 21($10-12, on sale now). 

Wild Child plays the Rex Theater on Jan. 14 ($13-15, on sale now). 

Aptly-named Led Zeppelin cover band Led Zeppelin 2 plays Altar Bar Feb. 20  ($15-20, on sale Friday). 

Elle King (who i did not realize was Rob Schneider's daughter until right this minute)comes to Mr. Small's Theatre on April 4 ($18-20, on sale Friday). Ra Ra Riot will appear at Mr. Small's April 12 ($17-20, on sale Friday).

Smooth Hound Smith plays Club Cafe on Feb. 3 ($8-10, on sale Friday). Also at Club Cafe: Lionize on Feb. 11 ($10-12, on sale Friday); Andy Frasco & the U.N. on Feb. 24 ($8-10, on sale now); El Ten Eleven on Feb. 25 ($12-14, on sale Friday); and Julia Holter — one of my personal faves — on Feb. 27 ($15, on sale Friday).

One more note: Garland Jeffreys' Club Cafe show has been rescheduled from Dec. 4 to April 1. All tickets will be honored, no joke. 

UPDATE: I neglected to  mention that BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND will bring The River Tour 2016 to the Consol Energy Center, Sat. Jan. 16. Ticket for that show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
