Concert announcements: Die Antwoord, Taake, Smashing Pumpkins, more
It's TUESDAY which, as we all know, means CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENTS! So without further adieu....
On June 16, Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall hosts "The Smashing Pumpkins In Plainsong — An Acoustic-Electro Evening." That's right: Billy Corgan and friends will be playing an acoustic-ish set of stuff from the Pumpkins catalogue, plus Zwan songs and solo works. I feel like there's some sort of joke to be made here but, i mean, it's not like I'm NOT going to this. ($39, on sale Saturday).
And while we're on the subject of Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, Melissa Etheridge will be there on June 22 ($55-75, on sale Friday); Iron & Wine & Ben Bridwell stop by July 27 ($35-50, on sale now).
Other events of note: South African rap-rave maniacs Die Antwoord perform at Stage AE August 12 ($27.50-30, on sale Friday).
