A few dinner ideas for your sweetheart(s)

Whether you've got a hand-holding friend you'd like to treat on Valentine's Day or you're taking yourself out for the occasion (hey, I spent last Valentine's Day with a book and a White Russian i.e. best date ever,) there a few restaurants in town that are hosting special dinners.

5528 Walnut St., Shadyside

Can't make it out on the actual day? Acorn will be hosting its Valentine's Day menu on Feb. 10, 14 and 17. Step inside, and warm your hands and hearts over a four-course prix-fixe menu for $65 a person at Acorn. Dry-aged beef tartare and risotto with calameretti  are two of the menu's promised delights.

The Vandal
4306 Butler St., Lawrenceville

From Feb. 13-15, The Vandal will be serving up a five-course meal for $65 a person. Dine on oysters, black-truffle fondue, winter salad, lobster ravioli and a still-secret dessert.

120 S. Whitfield St., East Liberty

Get started early on Feb. 11 with The Andy Warhol Museum's Vintage Valentine's Day Workshop. Gather at 1 p.m. in the gym of the Ace Hotel to make silkscreen valentines. Go crazy with a rubber stamp or silkscreen a temporary tattoo will you sip cocktails. RSVP required.

On the actual day of love, dine on a prix-fixe four-course menu for $80 per person. Reputed aphrodisiacs, such as oysters and chocolate, grace the menu, along with lobster tail in black-garlic butter. Don't see anything that strikes your fancy? The regular menu will be available too.

Valentine's Day notoriously books up fast, so make a reservation soon. And don't forget to show your server some love, too. Leave at least 20 percent.
