If you're sad fish fry season is coming to a close, are a little confused about what Lent is or just want to spend $10 for some fried fish that will benefit the LGBT community — you won't want to miss Keep Pittsburgh Fishy, a "secular" fish fry that will benefit the Persad Center.
The event runs tomorrow (April 3) from 5 to 10 p.m. at Spirit in Lawrenceville at 242 51st St., the old Lawrenceville Moose Lodge.
For ten bucks, you'll get either a cornmeal crusted fish- or fried zucchini sandwich, some sides (Jalapeño-apple slaw in a honey-lime vinaigrette, macaroni-and-cheese) — and a smattering of desserts sold a la carte.
Local group Dream Phone will DJ the event — followed at 10 p.m. by a “Fishcotheque” after-party DJ'd by Honcho (yup, the same group involved in the "
secret techno sex parties of Pittsburgh.")
It's all for a good cause — the
newly relocated Persad Center, which provides counseling and mental health services to the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities.
