Paul Collins is back in town as part of the new Sound Series “Get Hip — Get Art” held on Thursday, October 16th at Get Hip Recordings’ headquarters in the RJ Casey Industrial Park. Former member of groups the Beat and the Nerve, Collins has been dubbed as one of the earliest figures in the L.A. power-pop scene. 2010’s King of Power Pop! brought Collins’ solo recording back into the realm of the Beat and the Nerves’ music: fast, energetic, and a little sporadic. Now his most recent release, Feel the Noise, is a similar follow-up to the debut of this old-new sound.
