Macy Gray played Hartwood Acres last night and was met by a welcoming lawn full of fans.

Situated in the 629 acres of the park, Gray took the stage at the park's amphitheater and played to a hillside packed with concert-goers. Backed by a full band (guitar, keys, bass and drums), Gray, in shimmering silver dress and black boa, and her band played an hour and a half set. Early on in her set, Gray addressed the crowd saying “I bet you’re all wondering why Macy Gray and her band are in Pittsburgh this Sunday night?" She said that her keyboardist Peter Googled "What should I do right now?" and Google responded, "You should go to Pittsburgh." Peter gathered Gray and the rest of the band and they "sailed to Pittsburgh from L.A." Google also supposedly told him that "in Pittsburgh lives the ladies with the greatest breasts in the whole wide world."

On How Life Is, Gray's debut album, which features "I Try," turned 15 this July, but Gray showed very little of the years that have interceded, still possessing the voice and stage presence she did in when the hit was new. She seemed in her element in the festival-type atmosphere of the park. Gray and her band jammed out "I Try," extending the four minute song to 10, adding in a guitar solo and a verse of Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry." The group also played Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and Radiohead's "Creep," which appeared on Gray's 2012 cover album Covered .

Bu the set wasn't without her own songs. playing "Sexual Revolution," "Glad You're Here" and others. During her encore, she played "The Letter," "Beauty In The World" and "Stoned," a new song from her forthcoming album The Way.
