Monitoring Pittsburgh acts at SXSW after Wednesday night's crash

Posted By on Thu, Mar 13, 2014 at 12:23 PM

Last night, tragedy hit the SXSW festival when a suspected drunk driver hit a crowd of people while fleeing police. Two are reported killed and 23 others injured, five critically. With so many Pittsburgh acts in attendance at the festival, we're working to confirm the safety of as many local musicians and other attendees as possible today.

The following Pittsburgh acts have all confirmed, either via Twitter or Facebook or through text messages, that they're safe and uninjured:

Badboxes
Blue of Colors
Buku
Cello Fury
The Cynics
Devin Miles
Drowning Clowns
The Gotobeds
Lovebettie
Mike Medved
Neighbours
Paul Luc
White Like Fire
The Winter Brave

Our writers on the scene, Julia and Abigail Cook, are also fine, as are the guys from Altar TV.

We'll update this post as we hear from more Pittsburgh artists in Austin; if you're in Austin or if you have confirmation that other Pittsburghers are safe (or injured), please let us know via email at [email protected] or twitter at @andybotpgh. Here's hoping our Pittsburgh friends are safe, and our thoughts go out to the victims of last night's wreck.
